 Feeling Stuck?

Do you ever feel like you're stuck?

It's easy to feel as though we are trapped in situations and we can't get out or don't know how to get out.

But here's a thought. . . being stuck is really just a thought.

We're stuck because we think we're stuck.

And the worst time to try and leave a relationship, a job, a house, or a city is because we feel stuck.

Leaving these situations may bring a temporary reprieve, but as soon as things settle down again the stuck feeling will return.

Because it's not the situations that has us stuck, it's our thoughts.

If we're feeling stuck, it's often because we're thinking a thought that is creating a feeling of fear, inadequacy, or being incapable.

Thoughts that make us feel stuck include things like:

This is just too overwhelming.

I have no idea what to do.

Why do these types of things always happen to me?

Oh, great! What am I supposed to do now?

When we think these types of thoughts, it's no wonder we feel fear, inadequacy, or incapable.

And when we're feeling these ways we're going to act in ways that don't serve us and what we ultimately want to have happen in our lives, and we will feel stuck and unhappy.

Want to fix it? Learn to manage your thoughts.

Ask yourself what you'd like to feel rather than stuck.

Maybe you want to feel empowered, capable, courage, engaged.

Then decide what thoughts you need to be thinking in order to feel those emotions.

This may include thoughts like:

This is tough, and I know I can figure it out.

What's the best advice I could give myself right now?

I'm pretty good at solving problems, what can I do first?

If I knew what to do, what would be my first step?

You're getting the idea, right?

And then work on replacing your stuck thoughts.

Works like a charm -- but isn't always a quick process.

Just don't give up.
